Is there a break in period on new saws before the rigors of milling. I've run my 395xp a few hours but next week plan on 2 six hour days milling. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

A modern saw should straight out of the box be able to take a heavy load. However Milling is more in the category of "extra heavy load". Some say its better to break the saw in by varying the load between the 2/3 and full throttle. It's possible to do this for a big saw by milling small loads and changing the load during the cut.

I didn't do much to break in my new Stihl 660. My idea of break in was a couple shorter soft woods before I hit the dry Hickory. It's a couple years old now and seems to love life, Joe.
