There's a big oak tree in the front of our house. Braches extend over house and in to our backyard. Sap is dripping all over backyard pavement, deck, top of BBQ. Basically every where. How do you stop or minimize the tree from dripping sap? Trim branches where sap drips from? Spray? If yes, spray with what?

Sap drips from wounds, not from unbroken bark. Sounds like you got critters munching their way into your tree. I'd get someone to come look at it and find out what is hurting your tree. Once you know the cause, you can take the proper action.
Acting before diagnosing is not your best option.

I agree with Brian. Its probably honeydew(secretions from aphids) and not sap that is dripping from your tree. Get an arborist who is familiar with pest control to look at it and make recommendations.
