Hi all

I have just bought a pioneer 620 chainsaw off ebay. It does not start and has no spark. I know I have to check the points on the ignition and I know I need the flywheel off to do this. And there in lies the problem. There are 3 tapped holes in the flywheel and I assume these are jacking points. I have tried with bolts to no effect. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Also the cup that bolts onto the flywheel that is part of the starter mechanism is worn does anybody know where I will find a new one? Sorry about the long winded questions any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try this.

First, put away any freaking hammers. The three holes are there to screw bolts in thru a puller, not jack bolts. Get the correct or make a puller. There is a new post on here right now about a techumseh puller used to remove flywheels. I got one and have used it for years. Good puller.
