There appears to be a sign in front of the tree that says no climbing.

True, but we have permission from the state biologist in order to get a couple big dead branches out, and to inventory the epiphytes and other associates.

This will be no ninja operation--straight up, the state guys will be there and welcome the help on this venerable tree.
