is there anyone who can help me where I can buy rim to style 260,261?
I'm looking for an 8 teeth rims in the mini-spline (16.7 mm). I have seen many 7 teeth on eBay, but also no 8 teeth.

Go to any Stihl dealer and order one.

    MS260 rim sprocket kit 8T # 1121 007 1038

They don't show a kit in 8Tooth for the MS261 only 7. You can get a 7 kit and just order a 8Tooth rim to replace the 7.

    MS261 rim sprocket kit 7T # 1141 007 1002
    8Tooth rim # 0000 642 1234

These are .325 kits and rims.

Yes, that is why you have to buy the "mini 7-spline" rims from Stihl, at a much higher price than rims in general. All other brands use the regular "small 7-spline".

Yes, but a pro saw should have the rim and drum system from the outset, so only the rim should be needed. ;)

The Oregon replacement drum/rim for the 260 is not mini spline but the regular small spline as on a 346. I change all my 026/260s over to Oregon as I have small Huskys also.

So it sounds like some STIHL and Oregon rims are not interchangeable? I was wondering about this.

    Are the larger rims interchangeable?

    Thanks.

The current trio of rim splines: mini, small, and standard all have 7 splines, and can be measured as follows: The mini is just smaller than a dime, the small is just larger than a penny, and the standard is just larger than a nickel, so you can use these coins as go/no-go gauges.

Reminds me of this trick (below):

Maybe they realize that change is all we have left after buying all of this stuff . . . .

It's from the Bailey's web site - I should have mentioned that.
