I'll have to check what I got for a coil. I think it's original, the red light will actually go off in the brief second when it's running wide open in part choke mode. Would the spark just crap out like that if the coil was bad? It just seems to me now that it needs seals. What's the story on changing the seals on these?
Thanks for the responses!

If the seal is leaking 95% of the time the bearing is bad.

Pull the carb and post a pic of the flange.
Does it have a plate and gasket or a inner and outer ring?
2 different carb housings and 2 different carb boots

There's no gasket between the carb and intake boot, should there be?

Early 064 used a plate and gasket and I've seen more than one 064 carb housing or boot on a 066 with the wrong setup.
Just fixed one the other day.

A lot of parts can be changed and swapped around on a 25 year old saw.

What carb is that? Aftermarket?
The fuel pump cover looks to thick.
Something fishy about it

2 rings on the left and plate and gasket style on the right.
Different boots for each

From the looks of that piston I can't imagine it needing seals yet.

Keep in mind if you change the ignition from the red light you will have to change the flywheel to match.
Unless it's a dual key.

If it starts easy and idles at 2500 to 2700 and stay there i doubt it's a airleak or a carb problem.

Coil or plug is probably the problem

I put a Tillotson HS-320 on it, which I just bolted on and went with. I didn't check the metering lever height, until two minutes ago, and it's low. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'll set it correctly and give it a try tomorrow.

Might want to mess with the H needle if it will idle but stall when revved up.

I'm pretty new to saws so hopefully someone else will chime in.
