Want to Buy Stihl 088 cylinder (found one!)

Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I live in Honolulu where parts are pretty limited.

Is anyone interested in selling a new or good condition used cylinder for a stihl 088? It would be the clip on muffler style.

My move would be to buy one of the aftermarket p/c kits and scare up a bolt on muffler.

I was fortunate the cylinder on mine was in ex condition.

Thanks for the tip. I've been thinking of doing that if I do not find a cylinder. Luckily, I have another 088 & 084 that run well, so I'm not in a rush to get this one going.

Have you had trouble with the top left side AV mount?

This one was torn when I got it. I've been waiting over two weeks for a 'reinforcement' to retrofit.

There is /was a seller on ebay UK with upper buffers for 084 & 088......Also checkout ebay Germany for genuine 084 p&c kits and 088 kits (clip on muffler type).
By US standards the prices might not seem great, but compared to Australian dealer prices their quite acceptable!

My glued AV mount is holding up.

Got the 'brace' thingy put in. Shiny black in picture.
Was actually missing when I got the carcass.

Think one of my local repair shops has a used 088 cylinder (found when hunting for 084 bits). Can find out what he wants for it (but I am in Australia..).

i got 4 av mounts from germany coming atm.. that brace looks like a great idea. may have to get some of those too..thanks for the idea!

My Stihl parts guy at Jack Horner's Machinery tells me the AV bushings come in two or maybe more durometer rates (hardness).
I think the standard is too mushy.

I mean really, who runs a saw this big long enuff to worry about vibration comfort.[emoji15]
