is there a difference between 070 and 090 adapter sleeve ?

Can you contact your dealer and see if the mechanic remembers? That would be a good question to have an answer for ahead of time.

we dont know, 090 wasnt offered here.
so we are not sure if 090 has its own adapter sleeve
he did manage to put everything together

this conversation reminds me a problem me and my dealer encountered when converting my 070 to 090
the adapter sleeve wasnt long enough for 090 clutch assembly, its alot wider than 070 clutch
i cant remember right but i think we used 2 adapter sleeve or maybe 2 of those ring like stuff that goes together with
the adapter sleeve, is there a difference between 070 and 090 adapter sleeve ?
from the ipl it seems like they are the same, the clutch washers and plate for both
models arent the same btw, if you use 070 clutch washer and plate the end nut will be sticking out abit
and it will rub the clutch cover

these are the clutch washer and plate that goes with the 6 piece clutch, they look similiar to the smaller 3 piece clutch washer and plate but different dimensions

I turned my 070 into a 090. The "splieth" adaptor was the same (they can be had new at Stihl dealer), there was a small od washer that fit outside the splieth adaptor, then I used the large flat washer that covers the clutch spring. As I remember I had to look close at the drawing and parts I had. I think some of those special washers get lost and clutches get assembled wrong. As I recall, the small diameter clutch washer is discontinued and I have never seen one for sale on Ebay. My next move was to make one on the lathe, but I found one under the carb, somebody took it apart and dropped it into the engine and it stuck to the housing under the carb. I used an Oregon clutch drum. Drum should spin free and no back and forth slop if done right. It took me a couple of trys but it works great.

I believe that's all that comes in the kit, shoes, carrier, and springs.
