Wow, a year ago these clutches were hard to get, now we what, almost have a price war? lol Sorry Bill, I couldn't resist. Your add is quite clear and prices very good.


Yes it was clear. if posts 1 or 3 were not then 29 sure was.

It is amazing what has come available in the last year or so but sad to see what is not available. This next box coming in cost me well in excess of $2000 and it will not be that big

It appears the drums (Currently) might be harder to get than the clutches. I remember the days of looking at spending $300 plus for a clutch but teh drums were available. Now clutches are $150 and there are no drums???????????????????
 
@Bill G dont forget the clutch drums, if that goes extinct you'll be in trouble
which leaves us with 1 more question, how do we get the oem p&c ?

Robin - You can find the OEM 66 mm P&C's on eBay for about $400 U.S. But you should be able to get them much cheaper than that from the dealer.

haha yeah man the irony, but theres AM rim type sprocket in bay at about usd30. we should get it
 
ok guys i was at my dealers place just now, did some measurements and i find that you will need only 1 washer for 090 conversion which is the 1 with chamfered dent on it, PN: 1109 162 8905

you can still use 070 flat washer, funny thing is in 070 the flat washer goes in before the clutch but in 090 its fixed after the clutch goes in

its clearer if you guys see the ipl
if im correct thats the right way to convert an 070 to 090
 
In Bryan Equipment country (IN/MI/OH/KY/WV/TN) the 66mm top end kits (1106 020 1211) retail for $301.99.

Robin, I would have to check again as its been awhile, but the last time I looked .404 090 drive sprockets (1106 640 2015) were still readily available OEM for $22.99. What's getting difficult to find is rim sprockets, but I don't know if Stihl ever produced those for the 090; the ones I've seen were made by Oregon. Also good to note; they were made in two different spline sizes.

i bought oregon spur sprocket for my conversion, wonder if stihl has their own sprocket
the oregon ones in bay are freaking expensive

1. yes thats the rim type im talking about, hopefully the quality is good
2. we dont need the 070 sprockets they are widely available
3. are those for 090 1/2" ? hard to tell, ive got 070 1/2" NOS btw

Here is a photo of my clutch which is a 070 converted to a 090. The parts are laid in the order they are assembled. this may not be totally by the book, but it works great. once you put the needle bearing on the shaft, and slide the hardened Spleith adaptor on, the Spleith adaptor is a real busterIMG_20170409_1433397.jpg to remove again without a special Puller. just my 2 cents. dont get me wrong and i dont want to sound like a ****, if you fix that way i think the adaptor
sleeve wont center inside the clutch carrier and it wont torque right. which in turn will let
either the clutch carrier slip on the adaptor sleeve or the adaptor sleeve slip on the crankshaft

does the end nut goes in fully or does it stick out ?

not sure if you guys are following me but i think theres only 1 way to get it right,
following the ipl
 
Here in my area they were a bit higher a few years ago, but they came down again and that's the current price - I've bought two very recently.

ouch thats a big damage ! i might get myself 1 or maybe 2, too many guys asking me get an 090
i will offer the 090 conversion kit along with 070 so they can do it themself
