Stihl Chainsaw 38av and 170 specs and price

Hi,

I'm new to chainsaw and need one to cut a couple trees around my houses and use it occasionally. Someone is selling me a Stihl 38AV and 170 as a package price.

Price wise, what would be good price for a used 38av in good condition?

If it is an AV and not a super or magnum, then it is 61cc. I would see it being worth $250 in really good shape. With a 18-20" bar, it should be quite happy. Possibly 24" in softer wood. There really isn't an equivilent in the market presently - it is like a 362 on a 461 chassis, you could say. Rock solid and simple saw, though, with good torque and reasonable chainspeed.
