Suggestions for Stripping Paint Off The Tank

I bought a used tank and it was painted and looks yuck. How would you all strip it down to the plastic without damage? I plan on priming and painting suggestions on that would be appreciated as well.

I found a great safe stripper! LOL. Goof-off makes a graffiti remover and I tried it, amazing

Would this be an Abrams? Sherman? How thick is the paint?

I was amazed at how well it worked, I did not need gloves.
