I took a photo of my compression tester today, Actron brand. In the second photo you can see the Schrader valve in the tip, and perhaps you can make out that it is threaded from both 14mm and 18mm spark plugs.

I have a 10 10 and I need a new or replacement clutch break spring
if any one can help please
I really like this lil saw it was an untidy mess with a colony of wasps through out the carb the air box and the muffler boy what a mess
she looks good now a run really well
so I hope someone can help

Sad news. The compression on the PM 55 is 83 psi and 105 psi on the Mac 10-10. SO it looks like a rebuild is in order on the PM 55. Maybe I can hop this saw up and make it a screamer. It would be cool to do a air filter like the one 6-10 has.

Dose anyone know of any rebuild threads? I would like to read up on tearing one apart before I jump into it.

Red - which 10-10 (long or short clutch cover); I presume the spring you are looking for is the one that engages the brake handle and the latch.

For the short clutch cover - 91239

For the long clutch cover - 93085

Mate im not sure ???
the spring im talking about probably isn't realy a spring per say
its the stainless steel band that wraps around the clutch and stops the chain the chain brake is activates
Its about three inches in diameter and about 3/8ths wide thankyou so much for the quick response yeah

That would be the brake band. And as I just recently discovered also, there are two different brake bands to accommodate slight variations in the brake assemblies between the short and long clutch covers. 930801 is the part number for the long cover brake band. 91238 is for the short cover version.

It was Poge that actually answered your question.

I should be able to help with either brake band once you determine which you need.

I will be out of the country until 28 June so you will have to wait on me or look elsewhere if you are in a hurry.

So I was working on the "new" 10-10 today. I swapped the worn out bar and chain for a different setup, then went about sharpening the chain and noticed it was really rough to pull it around the bar. So I took it apart to check the sprocket. Well I found it had a fixed rim sprocket which was totally trashed. Never seen anything like that before, everything else I have is either a spur or a floating rim.
Anyway, have an Oregon floating rim setup on the way for it.

I have one sort of like that. I think t's on the 2-10. It took a few minutes to figure out it was a .354 pitch chain. You think I could find where I put that chain?

Not to worry Tim, .354 x 16" chain is 61 drivers and $10 each from Bob Johnson.

If you need another length just let me know gauge and DL count.

This is a repeat of a post in the McCulloch thread:

For anyone interested, I went ahead and ordered a quantity of the full wrap handles for the 10 Series rigid mount saws. I had them make it 2" wider on the left hand side to provide some additional clearance for the starter on LH start models.

This is a direct bolt on replacement for RH start saws and LH start saws with the older type of clutch cover. I will see if the later style of clutch cover can be modified to work with the full wrap and still maintain its structural integrity.

Evidently all of my photos are on the computer at home, for now I will plagiarize a few of Pete's on a 7-10 so you get the idea. The "aftermarket" handles are a bit more squared off like the ones on the CP, SP, and PM anti-vibe saws.

Mark, those handles look first rate! I may hit you up for one sometime soon. I have a 10@-10 question for you guys deep into these wonderful saws. I have a later model short clutch cover with chain brakes model pro Mac 10-10. It is in real good shape, on a compression test pulled 175 psi in about 4 pulls. I put a K10SDC kit in the carb, as it ran, but was rich and wouldn’t go past fast idle because running way rich and spitting gas. I read through an “026 spitting gas” thread, I haven’t leak checked the carb yet, will do that next. Any other suggestions?
