Now we just need to learn how to mod it and speed up the rpm and cutting times. Thought ive seen most of what the logging world had to offer till i seen this.

places they flooded to make hydro dams...not sure how many of those places there are, but i know some exist. in the great lakes there's companies that drag up logs that sunk off of booms decades ago. the cold water keeps them preserved.

y not cut the d*mn trees before you flood the place!!! prolly too many tree hugging hippies to let that happen!!!:greenchainsaw: so if they flood the place and then they go back in and use 3 times the equipment to get the logs out that is better??? =DUMB!! i can understand the stuff with the Great Lakes-to me that is neater than crap.

Looks pretty cool, but i think i'd miss being behind my saws suckin on sawchips and exhaust. At one point in my shortlived life i was a lifegaurd but for logging i'm still pretty much a land lubber.

pneumatic saws have been developed for under water cutting. I have this danarm saw in my collection that can be used under water (according to specs, I have no intention to use it )

I think we are going to have to do alot of clear cutting before that machine will beable to pay for itsself......I don't know about anywhere else, but timber prices suck here.....maybe waterlogged trees are bought by the lb instead if the mbf

There's a large man-made lake in Brazil that was flooded by the government before private companies could log the timber. Since the 80's they've been underwater logging. Initially, a diver would go down to the bottom (about 175 feet) and cut the trees using a hydraulic saw. After a few of the trees rocketed to the surface and destroyed a few boats, they developed a robotic, hydraulic arm that reaches down and holds the tree in place while cutting it. Then it carefully brings it to the surface.
