Vermeer 1800 shutdown no start

Chipper starts working then starts blowing out white smoke from the exhaust and shuts down. Anyone know what may be wrong?

Usually white smoke indicates a fueling issue. It could be getting too much fuel or not enough. It could be many issues such as the injection pump or injectors.

I had this happen to my chipper in the field. Turned out there's a small course material screen inside of a 3/4" bolt before the fuel filter. This had gotten clogged and prevented fuel getting to the engine. Blew it out and the machine fired right up.
