Want to mill a few Red Oak trees I have to cut down on my property.
What would be the best, cheapest way to do it?
I don't mind buying a small CSM, but I only have a MS291 right now, but may be planning to buy a new MS441 or MS461 soon
Wanted input from some of you who have been in this same place and just starting out milling.

What you want will dictate what you need. A couple threads down, check out the pics I posted, of the 6X6 beams I milled with my Farm Boss 290. The thread is "MS 310 milling". You can do some milling with your saw, but the more and bigger you want to do, you will need a bigger saw. 80 CC's is kinda a rule of thumb for the smaller milling saws. If you want quarter sawn wood for the best grain and furniture making, you might do better having a portable band mill come in and do it. If it's just some nice Oak slabs you want, then a CSM will be a good choice. If you can post up some pics of the logs and let us know what you want out of them, Joe.
