What tree type is this?

I recently was cutting up a tree and I became curious as to what type of tree it was. Unfortunately I don't have access to the leaves as they were shredded by the electric company. By the picture of the inside of the tree and the bark , Could anyone identify what type of tree this is?

Some type of Oak. Could be Red oak, need more to go by.
 
For future reference look at the end grain. All oaks I know of have tan colored radius lines that go from the center to the bark, same as spokes on a bicycle wheel. Not many other trees have these lines.
