I am looking to do this kind of set up, I have a similar home but my original furnace is upstairs on the main level. I am looking to install the wood furnace in the basement. how did you end up tying into your duct work?
I never did. I put a big new woodstove in place of the worn out wood furnace.

Long term plans include an owb to heat multiple buildings.

Alright, thanks. I am also looking into getting a wood stove for now and heating the basement and using the rise of the heat. I may put grates in the floor until I can completely upgrade my duct work for a wood furnace. I have all metal duct work, it just might not be big enough... Thanks for the reply, I know it's on older thread but there aren't many threads about this.
