    coil placement

I've heard pro's and con's on the placement of the heating coil in the duct work.I've been told if you put it over your ( a coils) it may have to much head pressure and AC unit will freeze up in the summer?Plus if you ever developed a leak and didn't catch it in time it could run your furnace? So my question is if you place the heating coil in the return side how close are far away should it be from the blower.

I would not ever place it in the return side. That is pumping all sorts of heat at you blower and controls.
If you put it above the A coil and you ever were to develop a leak. Hopefully your A coil condensate pan would catch most of it..
