This is my second year with my CB 5036, haven't had any serious problems with it yet, and all the questions I've ever had about it have been answered on here.
Well, the last couple days it's been acting up a little bit. I have my temp setpoint at 170*, and several times in the last couple days when I've went to check it or add wood, I find the temperature at 190* or so, when I just checked it a few minutes ago it was at 192*.
Well, I thought maybe the damper was stuck open a bit so I checked that. It seemed like it was shut, but I ran it up and down by hand a couple times and cleaned a bit of ash out from the opening there just to make sure there was nothing obstructing it.
I thought maybe the door rope wasn't sealing, I checked it all the way around and it seems to be just fine.
I've heard some of these have a problem with the damper drive mechanism and that it might help to hose it with WD-40 every now and then. Well, I've done that pretty religiously every month or so since I've had it.
Anyway, if you guys have any pointers or suggestions, please throw them my way, I don't want this thing burning out of control and getting away from me, I sure don't want it getting any hotter than the 190* or so it running now.
