    Need a wood ID

    I would like an id on this tree. It looks some type of elm. Some type of hybrid maybe. The tree crotches a few feet off the ground into 4 large limbs. The pods pictured are all dried out,but they were green when still on the tree. Thanks for the help. 001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg007.jpg010.jpg

    Those seeds pods are elmish, so maybe. Funny it split so clean though, no strings?

    The seed are definitely elm.
    The creamy white layers in the bark tell me it's American Elm.
    Looks like the bark is releasing, which is a good time to split it.

    Looks like American elm to me also and nearly cured.
    It comes with cream because you need many coffee's to split it
