    Hello all

Just a quick hello. Came across this forum and I really enjoyed reading alot of the things ya'll have on it. I've been working in the woods now since I was 10 or 11 yrs old, I'm 33 now. My family used to run a small sawmill which I grew up working in. Been cutting logs for lumber and firewood for several years now. I've always been a die hard Stihl man, but I've come to like Husky's also. I live in upstate, NY, not too far from Canada, in the Adirondacks. Cutting wood, splitting wood is probably my greatest joy in life. I burn around 25 or so cords/yr, and sell around 10 or 15, and probably cut and split with other people 50-100 cord more. I cut and split everything by hand, I've even got my wife doing it. She loves it. Hope to get to know some of you and get some good info on here and maybe provide a little. I'm a network engineer by day, and work in the woods on the side and whenever I get a chance. Good ta meet all of ya's. Zap me with anything anytime. Take care eh?

    Welcome to the site!

It sounds like your background and mine, and a lot of members here are nearly the same!

I think you will enjoy it as much as most here do. One of my favorite books as a boy in the 4th grade was "My Side Of The Mountain" about a kid that ran away from home to live in the Catskills, I for one would enjoy any pictures of senery from your area!

    Have fun here!

Actually, I kind of have to take a pic of it. It's a 14lb triangular head, and I mean a real triangle, with a pipe welded on it. I've used it since I was about 16 yrs old. I've beaten so many blocks with it, it's been bent, kind of moon shaped about 20 times and I've straightened it at least that many times also, lol. I'll get some pics up here for ya'll to look at also. The wifey and I are avid hikers also. I've only got about 15 or so left to complete my adk46, and I've prolly climbed 20 or so other smaller mountains. Here's a couple for ya. Enjoy.

Nice tractor dude. I reckon I'd like to get me hands of one of those suckers. Honestly, I've been using my old Jeep to drag logs for the past 2 yrs. I broke the frame last week. Now I gotta get the old girl fixed, lol. You've got some nice Cherry logs going on there too. I'm from up in Saranac, or over I guess is a better word. Take care eh?
