I ran an MS210 the other day.

I couldn't believe it! It had the "easy start", that thing scared me to death right off the bat!! When I finally figured it out, I had it flooded.
It had the tooless chain deal, what a PITA!!!! Puled the cover off and cleaned it out, then by the time I got everything lined back up and put together I had wasted fifteen minuets!
Then I ran the thing! Maybe I am spolied, but I could (I timed it) make three cuts with the 200T in the time I made one with the 210!! Yes, the chain was sharp, if anything the 200 was dull!
I'd rather run a 170 or 180 than that thing! Really, I was disapointed!! Glad I didn't own it!

Gezzzz Andy............You had a 346xp and didn't like it and thats the greatest saw Husky ever built........

.

Well, it really sucks! It seems like a nice built saw, good balance, I think it had a 16" on it. It felt really good in my hands. Would have been a nice limbing or small bucking saw. But I don't think I would want to b\put that much effort into making it cut!
I ran it, the ran it again timed. Then had them time me with the 200t and tell me to stop when I reached the same time. It was really sad!!
I did let the owner run my ported 350 afterwards. He left with an evil grin on his face:)

Tell us how you really feel about the 210 Andy, LOL. Not one of my favorites either...

LOL - quite an understatement, even a 250 is an anemic POS, imho - and with that POS add-ons it weights more than a 260.......:givebeer:

They are rated at a bit more power here than in the US, but compare badly to Huskys rated at the same power.

You sure do ask for a 'net :buttkick: sometimes. I like the 250 and my dealer moves them pretty quick. They should sell good with those tiny pecker poles ya'll have.

We don't carry the 210 or 230, we jump from the 180 straight to the 250, because the last 230 we sold got returned for 250 because the owner hated it.

So, our forum thinks that the Stihl MS 210 is garbage?

Ridiculous. This is a fine limbing saw. Somebody is losing their marbles. :dizzy:

Hey! Are you guys trying to tell me that I should keep my 1997 Echo CS3900 forever? Interesting...

Do a muffler mod on a 250 and it will change your mind.

Yup. Just did one on a friends a while back. I couldn't believe it. That really woke it up - made all the difference in the world. I ran it before the mod and understood why it was not respected. After the mod? Nice. Reved nice, and not too quick to bog.

It's not garbage but it is a saw without a real niche.
The 210 weighs 10 pounds and has 2 hp for 250$ or the 180 weighs 9 pounds and has 2 hp for 199$ so most people go with the MS180.

I have a "standard" MS 210 (no easy-start, and no tool-less chain adjust) with a 16" bar. I know it's not great, but that's why I also have a 361. The 210 is better than a 170 or 180 though. It makes a nice little occasional-use limbing/cleanup saw for the small stuff. Of course you don't want to bury it in a 16" oak log, but that's not what it's intended for. For just quick little cleanup jobs, or for taking along camping, I grab the 210. It's cheap enough I don't worry too much about abusing it, but it does surprisingly well at getting the job done when it's put to task.

Maybe the one you used wasn't running very well? Also I wouldn't want one with all that easy-start and tool-less chain adjust stuff on it. That would give me fits too.
