just went out and threw some wood in the furnace 9:30 pm and its 11 outside gonna go down to 1 tonight !!! to all you guys up north my hats off to you i could not frikin take it for weeks or months on end let alone the cold and add all that white stuff to get rid of:censored: on the bright side all of my mud is frozen :clap: and will be building a nice furnace room this spring to house my clayton and about a cord of wood.and my saws and splitter.hope every one is getting by allright i will be thanking god when i go to bed that im on this side of the mason-dixon line:clap:
 
The cold's not bad, you get used to it pretty quick. It topped out at 10 degrees today, and I was actually thinking it was kind of nice out. It was -17 this morning and was a bit chilly though.

-19.6 F this morning at 7 a.m. in Boystown, Nerbraska.

Now take a look at this:

I know you can do this with tap water at -20 F, but I never saw boiling water vaporize quite this rapidly. Gadzooks!

Here in northern,Minnesota..it's currently -24F with a high today of -11..plenty of nice dry tamarack is keeping me warm and toasty:clap:
 
i think that cold in tennessee will be here in north georgia tomorrow. Its 20's now.... but bout 80 in the house...lol.
 
Down to -7 here right now,its the coldest its been in over a yr. I hope it warms up a little,this is to darn cold.

Why?...'cuz these temps are the worst case we design our heating systems for....9 deg. in Mt. Falls today, down to 2 tonite, running my white and chestnut oak in the CB...it kept the house at 73 last nite, shop is 45, running 180 deg. water.
 
Yup, it's cold!! -21° here and everthing is fine. Still doing the 12 hour fill up with poplar and basswood. Terrible wood, but it is working and just happened to be piled to be burned now.
 
Camping

hey it's a great time to go camping,No hassel over the primo spots and the beaches are wide open......... This just a great time of year.
I just hope everyone cut enough wood.:givebeer:
 
I went outside at 5:45 this morning to fill the OWB and it was -20! Every breath I took hurt my lungs...now that is cold.
 
-33f or -36c last two mornings before wind chill. Not good days to own diesels.

Finally broke down and turned the propane furnace on to suppliment wood stove, now wife stopped putting wood in the stove.:monkey: I'll shut if back off soon as it heads above -20.
