Well certainly Sterling is no shang ri la, but there are efforts to clean it up. As far as sprawl goes, there isn't to much any more now that there is no more money to build. It works out for me because it's proximity to great falls, vienna, ashburn etc for buiseness. My saw shop is 30 min. west from where I live and is in a nice secluded spot.

I lived in Vienna/McLean for a bit in late 04/early 05 and worked for Post Properties briefly, they were idiots so I quit and worked in Arlington in the Pentagon Mall, then I ended up leaving McLean and moving to Alexandria for about 6-7 months until I got sick of the hot summer and left VA for good. I never went much west of there, there's not much out there except Dulles.

:ices_rofl:

You know the hell of it all? The one I prolly love using the most--the LN dovetail saw. 'Running' one of those is a good lesson in life. If you grip it like you're trying to kill the wood with it...it won't even move. Can't get it to budge. But the instant you RELAX your grip with it...you're plowing the earth. Let it do the work...you're off to the races. Try to force it to your will...you can't even start the kerf.

There's a lesson about chicks in there somewhere...I just don't have it yet.

.

Hey Woodie, is this what you are talking about?
