Canada Eh?
Hi,
I am new here, and new in Canada (Irish just movd over). I have been looking to buy new saws in Edmonton Alberta to replace the ones that I had to leave at home:mad:.

I have tried a few of the big dealers in town but they do not stock the 346xp, and say that it is special import only, and it could take 6 months:msp_ohmy:

Are they extracting the urine?

They say the ms261 is out the week after next, but i do like the 346.

Can anyone set me staight?

Thanks,

Saw Sore

346XP is available in Canada. Husq. Canada has it priced way too high but they are readily available. Shouldn't take 6 months to get one in Edmonton as the western warehouse for Husqvarna is located in Edmonton.

Prob the same reason i can't get certain Echo's here in the states. Paperwork and BS that the saws don't pass some written code...Bob

Thanks for the quick replies, I called another dealer, they dont have one but quoted me $750 for a 346, which is a LOT more than the new MS261, so I will wait and see wat the 261 is like.

Thanks

The dealers you contacted were just lazy and full of crap. The 346 is readily available in Canada, the lazy no good useless dealers that don't stock them is perhaps a good thing, for they wouldn't be able to sell anything, let alone a professional chainsaw.

Back home how many Euro's is a 346?

I bet the thought process goes something like this . . . realistically, there are not too many people that are going to buy a $700-$850 stock 50cc saw, why stock them? The people that want them will order them because they know exactly what they want.

Every shop I have been to in Ontario had one on the shelf. I would suspect they may not stock some prosaws because they don't move well in your area, at times I won't see the 80cc and up saws because it is just too much saw for the average person but you can order any model and it should not take long to get it. We pay a lot more for our saws a good price on a new 346xp with a case, bar and chain is around $650.00. I paid $1000.00 for my 372xp. If u can find a jonsered dealer the 2153 is the same exact model with red plastics.

Yes, some people couldn't care less that the 346xp cost more than other 50cc saws, for good reasons! :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

well from what i hear and what my dealer has told me, its not a frequently bought saw in the west here, maybe out east but I dont see alot here or here of them here, they gave me like a few months wait time for one and a $780 price tag, so i said nah, and bought my 390xp for under half that

In Ireland the 346 would set you back around 700-800euro, the stihls in Canada are almost ecactly half the cost of home.

Thats why I am treating myself to some new kit, and if they are half the price...I can buy twice as much:msp_biggrin:

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but couldn't you have a mate ship the saws to you?

I wanted to bring them with me on the plane, but SHE said I couldent bring them, that they woud make her clothes smell funny:dizzy:

No point for the moment in bring my makita/dolmar 520 and 7901 over, they both have a lot of hours on them. So I left them with my dad.

Going to treat myself to new saws.:msp_drool:
