Well . . . I thought I was wasting time allowing my 3 year old to split kindling with me. But, he got the hang of it and so I took a little video and it has been a great start to teaching perseverance and that feel-good feeling after putting in a good day's work. He has also learned the gift of serving others as he supplies our neighbor (Mrs. Harmon) with lots of dry kindling.

Thank you ArboristSite for the ideas and Fiskars for making such a great product.

Could only watch a minute before the video quit. I think you are doing your son a great service teaching him to work. Brace yourself for those who will be critical of something shown. I think your use of the plastic dead blow hammer is a very clever. I wish you the best as you raise your boy to be a man. :) Ron

Glad you guys enjoyed the video

I am glad you guys enjoyed the video. Arboristsite helped me in getting my first MS 361 and then MS 441 and then you guys got me hooked on Fiskars.

Alot of the credit goes to this forum in getting Micah to do the splitting in a manner that is workable for a 3 year old.

Glad you have enjoyed the video and thank you guys for all your help.

Neat video. Rep to you.

Great idea on the axe how you are holding it. I woud not have thought of that.

Awesome...That is the best I got...

That is besides the Rep that is coming...:msp_wink:

That kid is a machine. Mind if I borrow him for a few hours next fall?

Really, great idea putting the axe in a vise. Hope you don't mind if I steal you idea someday.
