Whats the deal? No winter last year, and now 50 deg in December. i worked awfully hard to get my wood. Paid a sh#t load of money for my wood furnace. I want to see some cold temps, I want to see people be cold, I want to see the wallets of the fossil fuel burners empty. I demand satisfaction Damn it.

its snowing now as im typing this and the forecast is for a typical MN storm. 4-7in by sunday nite then temps dropping to bout -5 to -10. hang in there guy, its on its way to you next

I hope we don't have a winter like last year. 3" of snow total. If it doesn't get cold pretty soon it's gonna be rough on the firewood sellers. Folks that bought but don't burn this winter are gonna have a lot of leftovers come next firewood season.

No, commercial hvac. Gets damn cold on a dark roof at 1 am, with temps in the single digits. I guarantee I will be called Monday night, The pats are playing, it never fails.

Tell me about it... was working up the wood pile in a tee shirt today.

According to the weather guessers, the Northeast and Eastern Seaboard are slated for "normal" winter weather after the 1st of the year.

I hope they're right... will be interesting to see how well this stove heats the ol' Den when it's in the 20s for a week or three. I'm looking forward to that. :)

Come to think of it, we haven't had a really cold winter in years. Been a long time since I saw 4' icicles hanging from the eaves. :dunno:

It's only been a few yrs here. But its time for a low of -5, and a high of 5. Lace up the skates.

sure be nice if thats all the colder it ever got here. even last winter being a mild one we still hit -25 a few times

Suppose to be a high of 37 here Monday! My sister just text me, said it was snowing in Iowa.

I'm guessing I'll be putting more than 3 sticks of wood in my furnace at a time on Monday. LOL.

I hope the Patriots lose on Monday! Brady is gay! Lol. Go Colts! Look closely at my picture of hedgerows splitter that I took today. The first pic before I butchered it. Yup. That's right, Colts fans only parking sign!

It really is amazing that the same latitude can have such different temps. I can't imagine -25. Unless it's a humidity thing, like Arizona can be 110 deg and relatively comfortable. Where here 85 deg could be hell.

It's all about humidity. Arizona's dryer than a popcorn fart most of the time.

it does play into it a little. once ya get below -5 to -10 its rarely windy and it doesnt seem to be much colder. altho any exposed skin will freeze darn fast if theres even a slight breeze. we also have the cruddy hot humid summers with temps in the mid to upper 90s regularly. ive been to texas in 100* heat and that aint nothin. worked in western SD all summer and had a few days at 110 and 112*. still not like that dang 95 and humid

We spent a week in Fargo several winter's ago. I don't think it got above -20 the whole time we were there.

Snowing now, maybe a couple inches on the way... but it's about 30[sup]o[/sup] so I figure most of it will melt by supper anyway.
Just started a fire... house about 68[sup]o[/sup] so just a small one. Didn't even light a fire last night, haven't had one going since Friday night. I don't believe I've had a 24 hour fire going this year yet and this weeks forecast is for 30's and 40's so I don't see much firewood getting used before Christmas.

I'll probably get a good blaze going this evening though, they're sayin' single digit lows tonight with the windchill around -10[sup]o[/sup].
