We have a lot of stuff cut already and I have a saw here. I also have a fiskars, a maul, and two splitting axes.

Sorry Steve, My older daughter is coming down from NH on Friday to watch her sister's kids (my Grandkids), so it will be a family day for me.

A lot of that Hard Maple is 3/4 bucked, but that stuff is tough to split by hand. You will have better luck with the Ash.

I take it you don't have your saws with you.

Charity cuts are great.... we have a bunch in the Midwest..... wish I was closer

Mike,

I figured I'd get after the ash and the smaller maple. The bigger stuff and the American elm by the chapel can get noodled at a later date (unless they rent a hydro). They also took a lot of the larger diameter rounds to use as campfire seats to replace the punky ones so probably a cord of what we cut is already gone. That one big log we left 3/4 bucked is still there but I need a timber jack to even think about moving that. I may see what TSC has in stock tomorrow as Home Depot didn't have anything.

No saws with me on this trip so just the camp supplied MS211 and a few fresh loops of chain.

Didn't make a lot of progress on splitting today but got some done and also started restacking in the shed. Lots of big rounds and crotches in that pile which need noodling or a hydro.
