The piston failed, which left the rod unsecured.

This is not the first time this site has seen a Stihl piston fail like this... or the second time... or the third time... ect. lol

I often think that is caused by an excessively worn piston skirt. Like .060" plus. Where it finally wedges itself at speed.

But there is scant piston left to measure.

14,000 RPM = A lot of potential energy. We are lucky more people aren't hurt. If a flywheel comes apart at that RPM and hits a person, well..........
