So again, you don't have a point.
Fascinating how you so regularly MISS the point.

Government agencies coexist. They best serve the people and the constitution when their relationships are built on trust and cooperation. In this instance, the sheriff may be justified in telling the Feds to shove off. But if all local agencies by default ignored the Feds, then we would be in a world of hurt.
    * Solo 650 (whines if you ask too much of it)
    * 36 inch Alaskan (pining away for a real saw)
    * Haddon Lumber Maker (great for slabs of chocolate)
    * Honda Fit (I have big time truck envy - good thing my brother in law has a tractor))

Naw, I didn't miss the point at all. The sheriff is sworn to uphold the CONSTITUTION.

If we chose not to uphold the CONSTITUTION, how much hurt does that create?

Sworn to uphold does not guarantee that it will happen. Unless some magic has happened in Washington D.C. that I don't know about. A Sheriff is no less likely to thumb his nose at basic liberties than any other elected official.

A sheriff has nothing to do with Washington DC.

Are you assuming the sheriff is a politician? That would be false.

Check the stats. Betcha corrupt politicians far outweigh corrupt sheriff's.

Don't know what dream world you live in. If you are elected you must politic. And it doesn't matter if there are more corrupt politicians than corrupt sheriffs. Being a Sheriff doesn't guarantee that person won't violate the constitution. There is no anti-constitution violation force field that comes with the badge.

    Say what?

So if in some county a Sheriff happened to be appointed, then what?

He is also assuming that 'basic liberties' are granted for those that are here illegally.

Yet another quaint blip from the stunted brain corp. It so nice to know that we can still depend on some things in life.

Help me out. I keep looking but I can't see anywhere on the A.S. site where I said that. Can you point it out for everybody?

Perhaps your right, in fact I regularly admit my faults.

But thanks for the reminder all the same.

It seems you have no problem saying anything you would like, having a valid point seems to escape you however.

I live in the dream world where judge's and sheriff's show up on the ballot (do you know what that is?) as non-partisan. In my dream world, many counties are also able to hold a recall vote on sheriff's if it is felt they are not seving the people.

Which is what makes it a dream world. You are deluded if you think that sheriffs and judges owe no political favors.

I see you couldn't find where I said that either. Well thanks for trying.
