    We are in big trouble

You, who worry about democrats versus republicans--relax, here is our real problem.

In a Purdue University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States. It was pretty simple the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

The class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating

"What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?"

Yep, these are the same kind of 18-year-olds that just voted in our last election!

They breed and they walk Among US...

Sometimes they vote. Most of the time they don't care. Many only voted this last time because they had a celeb to vote for, after all isn't that what's really important.

So, you're saying there is no excuse for someone with an education confusing the intended meaning of a word? Are you for real?

Furthermore, a bunch of you are griping and whining about the type of people voting. By your own posted story, the girl was the only one mistaken--everyone else's jaws dropped.

Here's what I think. I think stories like this are popular because people like to sit around stroking themselves and thinking about how much smarter they are than everyone else. Doesn't do anything for me.

Read the story again. "...and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument..." Details are important, as are simple lessons learned in grade school civics classes. I don't know what they teach now but I am not that old (31) I graduated grade school in 1993 and we were taught a great deal of civics even before I went on to high school where I learned quite a bit more.

I think that these stories are popular because the average person is amused by how stupid some people can be.

we once were drafting at 18 into the military, but, back then you had to be 21 to vote. the argument was "if i'm old enough to kill, i'm old enough to vote".

they lowered the voting age to 18.

these days you can join the military and vote at 18, but you aren't smart enough to drink until you're 21.

welcome to the United States of Confusion
