    census troubles questions

Has anyone dealt with sending in a census back with just the number of people listed in the home and ages and left everything else blank.

The census thing looks to be more like a marketing research form than a person/head count of the home.

We have been getting calls now from them about the way I filled out the form.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this and how did you deal with it.

There must be a legal right to not fill the whole thing out beyond just the people that live at present in the home
    It seems very invasive

i'm no lawyer, but the constitution requires the government to take toll of the number of people.

    period.

you have to fill out the number of people, but i don't think you're obligated to fill out the additional questions.

That was my general understanding as well.

If someone knows better on this please step up or a link as well to anything more specific would be great. The times they have called here my wife answered the phone so I have not talked to them yet.

I've never filled one out but instead opted to let them come and find me.

They did of course and I told them I'd give them the count of bodies but nothing else and they were fine with that.

Head count is all I gave them, they stopped by my place wanting more info, I told the lady only 4 people live in my house, she said she needed more info, I told her to pound sand. She went on a rant on how it is for funding and what not.

I told her to get off my property, and if she comes back ill consider it trespassing.

    Haven't seen her since.

That's true for right now but I'm sure it won't be too many years before they take legal action against those of us who stand our ground.

When the Communist in Chief learns of this you can bet there will be dire consequences for the non conformists to the party.

As someone that was a group co-lead census taker in 2010. We were required to ask all the questions and to have all them answered. If there were not all answered, it was then passed on to someone else our group. If you still did not answer all the questions then it went on to a different group, and the process started all over again. There was one house I was sent to that keep track of everyone that was sent and I was number 6, and boy did I get an ear full, but they were nice about it. I can't find the link now but you are REQUIRED to answer all the questions. But you have to remember that the census was created the last 17000 and carried out Federal marshals. Also something to keep in mind is there is more than one kind of census, and they go on year round. They are run by the department of commerce, so if you work from home they could be calling about that.

Here are the questions that were asked 2010 census

The Questions on the Form (Text Version) - 2010 Census

When I ran into people that did not want to answer the quesiton(s), I would tell them that I have to put something down, and I can't make it up. So I need someting to put in the box and most of the time they would give me something, for example for the phone number would be 315-555-1212 which is a real phone number, so that was good.

They should never ask for any information that can be tied back to ONE person. If in question ask them for a phone number where they are calling from and from what city. THEY have to give you that info. Also most of the time they will give you a 1-800 number, and just call them back.

While some critics claim that census questions are an invasion of privacy, the data collected by every question is either required to enforce some federal law (such as the Voting Rights Act) or to administer some federal program. The United States Congress gives approval to every question asked on the census

All they need are the number of people in the household. They don't need to know how much I make, where I work, what my race is, or whether I like cats or dogs.

If they really want that information, they'll have to work a bit for it.
