Just when you think the scum at the EPA are at their lowest, they dream this nonsense up:
EPA to require minimum four-gallon gas purchase at certain pumps | Powersports Business
Mods: This isn't meant to be a political thread, thanks.

gotta push that ethanol.
always on.......slightly off
Just another 'nanner peel on the slippery slope of tree hugging nonsense.
Driving up the price of fuel and food.
I could say a lot more but I'll stop.![]()
No way from keeping this from going political really.
Morons on parade. Liberal EPA is at it again.
Dont you just love our government.
What we should be doing is getting rid of ethanol altogether.

So if i gotta buy 4 gallons how much oil do i mix to get 40:1 and should i use synthetic or non synthetic also what brand of oil is best?![]()
The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of cheap price is long forgotten. (You get what you pay for)
No CAD for me its just my JOB.
Cant comment on this without getting in trouble.![]()
Last Sat I filled up with no ethanol gas. 93 octane stuff. It's about 10% more than the ethanol crap.
Remember when you were a kid and gas smelled good? Now it smells bad right out of the pump.
That's the first thing you'll notice pumping ethanol free fuel.
Based on the computer in my car, I think my mileage went up but I have not crunched any numbers yet.
Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

A quick education on ethanol gasoline.
This is something a friend of mine wrote a couple weeks ago after our discussion about fuel. I had mentioned to him I was looking for stations selling ethanol free fuel. Most marina's sell it, but you pay a premium.
Here is what I'm finding out about fuel. Years ago during my time at Nissan I learned about RVP, Reid Vapor Pressure, because we were having a lot of fuel related problems. RVP measures the volatility of the fuel. It was a concern because the higher the number the more chance of vapor lock and driveability problems. Gas with a RVP of lets say 13.5 with the addition of ethanol will be higher. On the surface this would create real problems which is what I think we went through in the 80's when I was with Nissan and why we only had ethanol in our fuel during the winter months. Now they have found ways of reducing the RVP increase by blending different kinds of alcohol with gas so that we can have it year round. The complex blending contributes to the short shelf life of today's fuel as things evaporate off. What this means is we can have a fuel with an acceptable RVP of 13.5 however the performance may be in the 20"s and who knows where it will be as the fuel ages. This brings up engine damage concerns with the auto makers and why they filed lawsuits to prevent E15 and E20. What makes this interesting to me is that fuels with a high RVP are said to be harmful to the ozone because of the higher evaporation rate. As you know the ozone depletion is linked to global warming so now we get to suffer once again (with inferior fuel) to prevent global warming. They have successfully built a house of cards on a lie.

Thats only for E-15
but the good news is its not the other way around like it would be the Max.
Gonna throw some numbers out for you to think on.......a bushel of corn is 56 lbs.,..... they can pull 2.5, maybe a little more gallons of ethanol out of one bushel of corn, ..........ethanol has 2/3 the energy of gasoline so that bushel of corn has the energy of a litte over 1 1/2 gallons of gas.
Guy that hauls my steers has a 4door one ton Chevy with a 454 that gets 6ish with a loaded trailer (that let's say weighs seven ton)
Correct my math if I missed something, that 56 lbs. of corn has enough energy removed from it that it can move this hulk 10 miles down the road (if Chevy could run on it) and the ethanol folks say what is left is better animal feed than the corn was in the first place?
Kinda like some woodstove association saying wood ash makes a superior building material, don't rot, don't burn and termites won't eat it.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.
Better get a spare jug with wheels if ya ever have to walk much distance to a gas station.
