    They'll have to be convicted to have a felony record, and like you said, that's unlikely. What the DA in this case is using is a very distorted interpretation of the child ####ography laws. I doubt a judge will even assign this case to a jury trial.

    I think a lot of us would be in trouble, if we did what we did when kids. Our parents were able to threaten to kill us, and do bodily harm. Not that they would but they had power. They don't anymore nor do the teachers. So, we have, what should be taken care of by the parental units, taken to court. There's been a few similar things happen out this way. I'm sure somehow the school will be sued. That's what a cheerleader in Seattle is doing because the school suspended her for her naked pictures going around. In about 20 years, they'll be horribly embarrassed, we hope.
    Able to operate and heat my home with a WEPA and EPA certified woodstove and probably could do so with one hand tied behind my back.

    Thats part of the problem. The laws are set up so that you cant really dicipline your kids anymore.
    Kids think they can do whatever they want because if their parents spank them, they merely go to school, tell a teacher that their parents hit them and BAM, the parents get arrested for child abuse.

    Oh they do not. That's a myth based on a few extreme cases. The truth is that the majority of parents aren't even around to discipline their kids, and even if they were around, they wouldn't take the time to bother with it.

    To the extent that those that watch us do not desire to be watched by us is the precise extent to which we are not a free and just society.

    If 90% of the wealth is controlled by 10% of the population, then why would any wage earner ever vote against their own interests by voting Republican?

    And shouldn't that same 10% that control 90% of the wealth pay 90% of the taxes, instead of the 63% they currently pay?

    There is no such federal law. It varies from state to state. Here in Virginia, for example, corporal punishment is expressly allowed. IIRC, in Washington, it's illegal.

    Lord knows I did some stupid stuff as a kid.

    Back then if no one got hurt, and whoever was on the short end was willing, ya got your keester kicked, and the local cops kept an eyeball on you untill you graduated.

    If you broke the law hard back then, and no one got hurt, ya got juvie, got your butt kicked, and the local cops kept two eyeballs on ya untill you graduated.

    These gals didn't hurt anyone but themselves, didn't cost anyone a dime, and need thier butts kicked by parents.
    They are gonna be humiliated untill they are dead from this.
    No need to make them Felons, or tie up courts that are already too dang busy.

    Kids cell phones need to be programmed to only dial three numbers.
    911, Home, and Parents work.
    All else is mule fritters, and invites trouble.
