Stihl 076 ??????

Hello all,

I just bought an old Stihl 076 and I am looking for any and all advice on this saw. I am going to use it with my alaskan saw mill and want to make sure it is running tip top.

Are there any mods I should consider right from the start?

Are there other saws that I can swap parts with?

I would also like to increase its displacement eventually, if that is possible.
Is there a place to get a big bore kit and other parts in general.

Thanks all for you answers.

i dont know of any parts that will swap over. but because the saw is so old i would make sure all the brgs, rings, cylinder, piston, and seals are in good working order. alot of those old saw the seals will dry rot. for just going on an alaskan mill just some basic porting should do the job.

If you are going to mill with it I would use the TS760 filter system. Check with Kelvar, I think he has a bunch of parts from cut off saws and may have a side cover that you are missing.
