I would like to start this by saying I have a 22T Speeco from Fleet Farm. I am very happy with it. It does everything I need it too, and I feel that buying a bigger splitter would have been a waste of money for me. Now....
With less than 4 tanks of gas through my splitter, the auto return valve was sticking. The cylinder would run all the way back, then the motor would dog down with the valve not returning to neutral. I expected this problem when I bought the splitter. (Thanks Arboristsite!) Now the fix:
1) Turn the splitter off.
2) Pull the end cover off the valve. This is the end away from the lever. Two allen screws hold the cover on.
3) Smear some grease on the steel ball that you see.
4) Problem solved!
Apparently there is not enough grease on this detent ball from the factory. After my fix I ran 2 full tanks of gas through the splitter and had no problems. Good luck!
