028 Problems

Guys I have a 028 that runs erratic lately,put new carb kit,points,plug,gas line,gas filter, finally took compression check 65psi is it time for a cylinder piston kit? And at what psi are they getting on the tired side? Thx

It probably wouldn't run at all on 65 psi, you need to get a more accurate reading. 150+ compression is decent, 135 or below is probably :censored: the bed. Pull the muffler and look in through the exhaust port, that'll tell you alot.

I agree...shouldn't run with compression that low. For small engines, the compression tester needs a check valve (Schrader valve) at the tip that threads into the spark plug hole.
