029 super. worth fixing? use parts from 029?

I have an 029 super. I got it for $20 and rebuilt the carb knowing I was going to have to replace the muffler. I got it started. Just a couple of pulls. Turned it of and restarted on one pull. I did that a few times. It runs great......

Then I found out that the shaft was broken right at the end where the clutch goes on. Needs a new shaft and I would replace the bearings also I guess while I'm there. So I have 2 questions.

Is it worth that much work for an o29 super and does it have the same shaft as a regular 029?

Is the crank off an 029 the same as a o29super? and


is this motor 1127-029-462dz off an 029super, ms290 or an 029?

I believe they are the same. 029/039 290/310/390 to the best of my knowledge use the same crank and bearings. Check ebay and you may be able to find a crank with good bearings on it already. They are tricky to rebuild the first time around. Much more difficult at first than a regular pro saws construction. Do some searching here and you will find a few 290 rebuild threads.
