036 piston swap

Need some help! Can anyone advise whether the piston from an 038AVEQ can be installed into an 036. They both have the same bore and stroke. I need to replace the piston, and am thinking that the curved crown one from the 038 would be a good choice. I can take down the outer edge to adjust squish, if required.

How much precision machining do you want to do??

Not that much. I thought the kicker would be the pin position.
