12.5 Hp Stihl ?

there's a twin-head CSM on ebay & one of the saws is a 12.5 HP Lightning. I'm not interested in buying it, just curious if any of you can give us some details on that monster? For historical reasons. Thanks

Sawtroll be be along shortly with the correct info, but I believe the reference to 12.5 is SAE HP, not "hp"or "bhp"....

That is correct - sounds like the saw is a US (Lightning) version of the Contra S (137cc).

The Contra S was developed into the 090, with a SAE rating of 13 and even 15 hp - but a DIN rating of 8.5 to 9.0hp - the DIN rating is comparable to todays hp ratings.
