Anyone ever consider using a counter-weight to balance a chainsaw mill?
I have milled smaller lumber before using a small powerhead (under 50cc) with a small-log mill. Now that I've graduated to a Stihl 066 the effort required to balance the entire milling apparatus on the cant can be a bit much. I don't really want more weight to push around but I thought maybe the effort saved in balancing could be better spent toward a smoother feed or better throttle control. I'm also thinking this might make the entire enterprise of chainsaw milling somewhat safer.
