Great site !! I'm in the process of designing and building my splitter (thanks to the search button for the tons of cool stuff you guys have built) . I saw a pic of the box wedge on a splitter and it really makes sense to me, but I'm wondering what , if any , are the drawbacks . I will do about 4-5 cords a year for my wood stove (Lopi) .

Thanks,

Steve

Really no draw backs. depending on how small or big the log is you might get just a sliver thin slices of wood .on the outside of the box with a box design.
