My local homelite dealer says he has no record of XL850 being made and he is an old timer any ideas? Who may know about a clinton saw. It is a big guys saw and runs good. Thanks.

I have seen some Clintons on ebay and methinks they have Tecumseh engines? Cant remember for sure, once everyone went to direct drive saws they faded out.

Hello, XL-850" were made in the late sixties. XL-850 was the first Homelite to have electronic ignition. This was the leader of the mid sized lineup. Followed by the XL-800 and XL-750, the more economy saws. It was 5.01 cubic inches. Later transformed into the popular 925. Good Luck, Jonathan
