Double Dogs/Roller for a 310?

I've searched and have some basic info. What prompted me to go in this direction was that I was going to replace the clutch cover (plastic) with an aluminum (or magnesium) cover and came across some posts regarding the double dogs/roller. What exactly is the benefit of running the double dogs & roller combo?

This is for a MS310 w/18" bar......
