As everyone knows we are having some major fires here in Colorado. The biggest is just a few miles from my house. My question is: Do any of you know if there are usually contracts that go out to clean up the lumber? Who do you contact? Is it usually done by forestry dept (its on private land, mostly) or can it be insurance related. There is about 120,000 acres here that needs cleared and was looking to see if this side of the business is actually possible or if any have done it.

Is this the one that was set by a federal employee?

This is so big it may be covered by federal disaster grants.

Don't forget the replanting portion of the equation. Remidiation, get the hybrid poplars growing fast and the pines and psruce seende in under them.

Darin,
I guess it was around 10 yrs. ago when Santa Babara, Ca.
Burned up.We did major demo work thru the county. Great pay
but man was it a dirty job. Them days was no problem. A bottle of tequlia washed bown the black stuff that was in your throaght & lungs just fine.
