Getting back into business

Hey guys, looking for some info. After 21 years as a cop I'm thinking of retiring and getting back into the small engine/chainsaw line. I was a Husky/Jonsered dealer back in the 80's. Most of my info is very dated. Any advice on which companies are best in dealer support, which wholesalers are good, who to stick with and stay away from? I know Husky and Stihl are doing the Big Box stores these days and there is some rumor of not trying for them. Jonsered is supposed to still be supporting the independents. What about Dolmar or the other outfits?

Husky is the one really doing the big box stores these days. Our local Stihl dealer is doing O.K

Have you thought about buying an existing chainsaw dealership?

Nothing close by I could afford. Thats part of why I want to start, 'cuz the locals have to drive so far.
