Giant Elm Discovered in Ohio

I don't know how a 100' elm can not be "found" for over a century but look what turned up on land just purchased by the state. Its care to prevent DED is also interesting. This was found around Dayton.

Beautiful trees. There are still a few around here. There's one down the road I've got to take a pic of. The first firewood I ever split was from an American elm. What sticks in my mind from that experience is breaking a lot of ax handles and burying a lot of wedges.
