Alright guys, I am no chainsaw guru like you all. I just purchased a brand new Shindaiwa 502S powerhead off of ebay.
Anyways, what is a good bar and chain combo for this saw? All I pretty much do is cut 5 cord of firewood a year for my families fireplaces and our cabins wood stoves on our farms. I also spend my winters cutting trees out of my prairie remnants and CRP fields. I cut the typical trees that you would find in Missouri. Ash, Oaks, Elm, Locust, Hedge, Cedar (out of my fields) etc... Obviously, I am not cutting monster trees. The biggest saws we use are ms290s with 18 inch bars for reference and they do great.
What would be a good combo on this size of chainsaw and for this type of cutting?
