My old tried and true Stihl 051 has a problem. It is leaking chain oil into the cylinder and locking up.

I took it to my local Stihl dealer and they said it was a main bearing seal but that they could no longer get that part for it from Stihl any longer.

Can any of you good folks point me in the right direction as far as someone who may have the part and would repair it. I just know that sitting on some dealers shelf collecting dust is just the part I need but I don't know where to look.

I would be willing to pack up the powerhead and ship anywhere in the states if I just knew where to go.

Also any suggestion on possible websites woud be appreciated.

Contact me directly, if you wish, at
[email protected]

Any help you can give will be greatly apprciated-I would hate to throw such a good tool away because I can't find a 5 buck part.

My best to you all,

Check to see if that model saw uses crankcase pressure to drive the oil pump. if it does then you just have a bad diaphragm or oil pump seal
