Just a note on learning experience: took one of my Homelite 330's apart and replaced two of the rubber isolators. After reassembling the saw I picked up the two old isolators and noticed they have a metal ring around each end. Needless to say the metal rings need to be moved to the new isolators before installation, also needless to say I'm getting faster at disassembly and reassembly of a Homelite 330.

Wow, it's nice to know I'm not the only one! I did something similar just the other day. I completely rebuilt a starter assembly. After fighting with a stubborn recoil spring and getting it completely re-assembled, I noticed the left over friction washer sitting on the bench. Yes, I did contemplate leaving it out but, I'm a glutton for punishment.
